CAS(E) this Sketch #59

Hello...hello  Everyone!
We are now starting for the first sketch challenge of the year 2014 here
at
CAS(E) this Sketch.

For this week we are using the sketch made by no other than Leigh Penner.
Love...love this!!!

To start my card....I first inked my Craft Mat from Ranger with my ink pad. I used the
ink from Ranger Distress ink Wild Honey + the Heidi Swapp Color Shine Mustard.
Then spritz some tap water in some areas in the mat then place the embossed flower image to get
the colors from the mat. Once its dried then I used my brush to get some of the the
Heidi Swapp Color Shine from the mat to add more shine on some parts of the flower.

The pink combination is Ranger Distress in Pickled Raspberry + Heidi Swapp Color Shine Primrose.

For this image I created my background using stencils with Light Modeling Paste, got it from Michaels.
I just die-cut the MFT Mini Chicken Wire to create my own stencil for this project.

When the modeling paste is a little bit dry but not totally dry, I brushed it with perfect pearls to add
shimmer.

I hope you can see the shimmer on this pix from the modeling paste and the flowers as well,
this is the look when it hits the light :) <3

This Magnolia flower images & sentiments are not out in the market yet.
My Co-Runway DT Tasnim Ahmed had created and design this wonderful stamp set.
So Awesome of her to let me try this set and design some projects before she let it out in the market.

You can see another "Magnolia's For Her" project HERE  later today at 5pm EST.

Here's the look of the full card.

I hope you enjoyed my take.

I hope you will join us for this week for more stamping fun!
Don't forget to check out the other DTs for their wonderful interpretations

Have a wonderful week.

  7. Wait ... there's just too much goodness here! 1) the modeling paste looks awesome when it's partially done like you have here, 2) perfect pearls on top is so smart ... just a little shimmer since it's a background after all, 3) the watercolored flowers embossed in white are gorgeous, 4) Tasnim's stamps are exactly what I would expect from here ... stunning, and finally 5) the black sentiment reminds me of the fun dymo labels Tasnim and Aga use on their cards. Awesome!!
